So you’re curious to know who I am? All right, then. My name is Chrissie Sternschnuppe and I’m a person of many interests.
But one interest in particular stands out: The history of Berlin.
On the other hand, I can combine that interest with my other interests. Storytelling in the form of text, images and video. And guided tours such as my city walks and tours of the museum I work at on a daily basis.
Attracted to Berlin
Few cities have a history like Berlin. The city has been the center of industrialization in Europe. In the 19th century, Berlin shone in all its electrifying glory, and shortly into the 20th century, it was perhaps the most progressive and liberated city in all of Europe.
However, Berlin is a city of contrasts.
In the 20th century, Berlin was also the center of the darkest moment in European history. Two world wars and the Cold War.
And guess who is attracted to both the glamorous and the grim?
Moi!
A Complex Person
I’m a shy person, except when I’m talking about the history of Berlin in front of 30 people.
I rarely greet others. But if you see me on the street and say hello, you can be sure of my attention and a greeting back. And I’m a queer woman, so I look out for myself.
