Futurium, Berlin.

Will my robot live as long as I do? Where does electricity come from? How do we create sustainable cities? Get a glimpse of the future at Futurium

If you care about the future of the planet, Futurium is the museum for you. Others care too, and are coming up with innovative ideas for life in the future – with green skyscrapers, renewable energy, and a healthier lifestyle.

Futurium is an interactive museum for both adults and older children. The interactive exhibition invites you make choices about how you want to live in the future.

Do you want to work from home or commute to work? Do you want to cycle or drive? Should parcels be delivered by robots or public transport?

The exhibition also takes you on a journey through human genetic heritage and offers a glimpse into how long we may live in the future.

You must constantly make active choices about your life and lifestyle.

The exhibition itself also feels futuristic. Instead of pressing screens, you simply point into the air to activate the displays. Or the exhibits come to life through augmented reality.

The museum also features a section called ‘Labs,’ where you can explore creative ways to repurpose waste into useful items. For example, a skateboard made of compressed paper and a lamp made of orange peels.

At the very top of the museum roof is the ‘Skywalk’, offering a 360-degree panorama of Berlin and the River Spree, which flows just beside the museum. Please note, the Skywalk is closed on rainy days for safety reasons.
