Nante Eck, Berlin.

Nante Eck serves Bouletten and giant currywurst, typical Berlin dishes. You can also enjoy a tender Wiener schnitzel that fills half your plate

Traditional Berlin cuisine is quite similar to classic Nordic cuisine. And Nante Eck serves it in a more delicious way than how it is usually eaten. That is, if you can read the menu, because it is written in Berlin dialect.

Fortunately, everything is translated into English so that everyone can read it.

Bouletten are fried meatballs. In other parts of Germany, they are called Frikadellen, but the Berlin meatball is just a little bit better. You can enjoy it at Nante Eck.

You can also order a giant currywurst, which is the deluxe version of the street food version you can get elsewhere. The giant sausage is served with authentic Berlin curry sauce and potato salad.

Personally, I eat at Nante Eck because of their Wiener schnitzel. It’s made from veal, and as my old man describes its size, it covers half a toilet seat.

The schnitzel is crispy and tender and is served with fried potatoes and, in typical German tradition, with as little salad as possible.

It’s so big that I can’t finish it.

There are, of course, several desserts to choose from. Ice cream, cakes, and apple strudel. I usually go straight for coffee after the large meal. A Baileys Latte.

A Baileys Latte is a latte macchiato mixed with Irish cream liqueur, which gives the coffee a sweet taste and a touch of alcohol.

If you book a table in advance, you will be seated inside, where the restaurant is decorated with photographs and memorabilia from Berlin during the imperial era and the Weimar Republic.

It’s like traveling back to the good old days while you enjoy your meal.

If you arrive spontaneously, you will get a seat at the sidewalk restaurant on the historic Unter den Linden boulevard. That is, if there is a table available.

It is best to book a table on the restaurant’s website.
