The HARIBO Shop Berlin is a fun place to visit. It is colorful, offers HARIBO candy from around the world, and sells gummy bear merch
It’s in the name. HARIBO comes from the German city of Bonn. HARIBO is actually an abbreviation of Hans Riegel Bonn. Nevertheless, Berlin has a large store that is a paradise for HARIBO fans, offering both candy and merchandise.
You’ll be greeted outside by the famous yellow gummy bear mascot, and there are even more gummy bears inside the HARIBO Shop Berlin.

Gummybärchen is the German word for gummy bears. They were invented in the 1920s by Hans Riegel. The modern version is called Goldbären in German, and as someone who has tasted HARIBO gummy bears from both Germany and other countries, my opinion is that the German ones taste best.
HARIBO Shop Berlin is much more than just gummy bears. It offers HARIBO varieties from all over the world, and those who enjoy the taste of ammonium chloride can feast on their regional salt licorice.
Of course, there are also options for vegans. An entire wall full of vegan HARIBO candy.

However, my children prefer the pick-and-mix candy. You fill a box and pay by weight. My youngest called it a Döner box with wine gummy bears, but you can also choose other wine gums, licorice, and chewing candies.

There really is something for everyone at HARIBO Shop Berlin, living up to its slogan, which rhymes in German: Haribo macht Kinder froh – und Erwachsene ebenso (Haribo makes children happy – and adults too).
Of course, it’s a commercial venture, designed to sell candy. Still, it’s a fun experience to walk into a place where the world’s most famous gummy bear reigns supreme.
